A note on our vegan ethos and hen keeping:
You may be wondering "hey, I thought you were a vegan business! Why are you promoting hen keeping?"
It's a great question and there are many different viewpoints on this. For us, we keep rescue hens which have been kept on a commercial poultry farm for their whole lives. They were destined for slaughter but these lucky individuals have been rehomed and enjoy freedom and cuddles with us at No Harm Farm. We found that offering the eggs from our rescue hens through our honesty box system has raised awareness of hen welfare and reduced the need for people to buy commercially produced eggs in the shops. For every box sold at our honesty shop, there's less demand for factory eggs. And we all know it's a supply and demand business. Every donation goes towards caring for our rescue hens, so it's a win win!
We hope to inspire others to rehome hens in their own back yard, and if they do, this guide will surely help!
